Bazentin-Le-Petit Village

Bazentin to Martinpuich

The main road up to Martinpuich from the centre of Bazentin-Le-Petit. It was along here that the British and Allies fought on the morning of 14 July, 1916. The village was declared as taken at just after 10am. The memorial to the Nine Brave Men, for an action at the end of July, is just up along this road. It was here that William surveyed the action over in Longueval and the charge of the Hussars and the Deccan Horse.
